A Better Ireland

If we are to rebuild this Country, then let’s do it properly.

It must be obvious to most people by now that things need to change, if we keep doing what we have been doing, then we will keep getting the same results as before.  Unless we are happy with how things are then things need to change and change soon.  Over the next couple of blogs [...]

Ireland’s Corporation Tax.

With all the speculation at present regarding Ireland’s 12.5% corporation tax.  Maybe it’s time for the Government to look at it again in a more creative way.  For instance if they were to raise the tax to say 15% (still half what it is in most other EU countries) but allow reductions on this rate [...]

More local Government.

What we need in Ireland, is a greater dissolution of power, we the people need a greater say in how the country is run and at a local level, to give just one example, given the current cold spell, we have children freezing in prefabs all across the country, while at the same time the [...]

Loss of our Sovereignty

Batt O’Keeffe speaking on the RTE programme ‘This Week’,  when denying the need for us to apply for any bailout funds, said “that it (the Government) was not going to give over to anyone else – what he called – Ireland’s very hard-won sovereignty” When (not if) the IMF and the ECB come to our [...]

Is all the cake gone?

People in need are to be given free cheese through an EU scheme. Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries & Food Brendan Smith said a substantial quantity of cheese would be available for distribution by voluntary organisations from Monday week. Mr Smith said the EU-funded scheme would enable Irish cheese to be bought and distributed to deprived [...]

Politicians Take Note:

The superior man, when resting in safety, does not forget that danger may come. When in a state of security he does not forget the possibility of ruin. When all is orderly, he does not forget that disorder may come. Thus his person is not endangered, and his States and all their clans are preserved. [...]

Democracy’s shortfall

Now that the Democrats have suffered severe losses in the mid-term elections Obama will be under pressure to fix the economy and to fix it quickly, this situation shows the main weakness of the democratic system, everything has to be fixed before the next election and in this situation that is only in two years [...]

Government stop the waste

The Government has some neck threatening to raise our taxes in the next budget while at the same time they preside over massive wastage in the civil service and the HSE. They need to get their own house in order by making sure that whatever taxes that they raise at the present time are put [...]

to my site, having sat through the turmoil of the last few years, I'm frustrated, I want the Government out and out now, but having thought on it, I came to the realisation that there is no real alternative. All the political parties support and partake in this sham that we call Democracy. So that is why I have decided to run in the next General Election. I want to offer people of this constituency a REAL alternative. There are so many things that need fixing in this Country; the trouble is knowing where to start. I believe that what needs fixing first is our system of Government, giving the people of Ireland a real say in how this Country is run. Real local Government and a smaller National Government. that acts on National issues
